    Responsibilities

     

    Reporting to the President of Canon Canada and matrixed to the Canon USA Internal Audit department, the Internal Compliance Auditor will act as a consultant to Canon Canada, providing assurance of compliance by analyzing and evaluating business processes, internal controls, and performing data analytics to identify improvement opportunities.  Additionally, the Internal Compliance Auditor will act as a coordinator for SOX compliance and for Canon USA in Canada.

     

    This role is based out of our Head Office in Brampton and is specifically responsible for:

     

    • Conducting internal audits by developing test plans, performing tests, preparing audit work papers, and reporting findings to management
    • Assisting external auditors to provide SOX compliance
    • Assisting external auditors in performing annual financial statement audit reviews
    • Performing special projects and investigations
    • Ensuring SOX documentation is updated, scheduling walk-through meetings, and completing entry level questionnaires
    • Performing internal audits to identify risk factors associated with operational functions
    • Recommending potential areas for audit efforts to CCI Management and Canon USA Audit and Business Consultation Department
    • Assisting Canon USA with Compliance Awareness Program roll-out efforts in Canada

    Qualifications

    To Succeed You will Have: 

     

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA is an asset
    • CIA or CISA is an asset
    • 3-5 years of public accounting or private corporate auditing experience
    • Advanced analytical skills required to gather and interpret complex information and present findings
    • Refined project/process management skills
    • Refined technical skills to use audit techniques, IT systems, GAAP and general accounting controls
    • Refined time management and multi-tasking skills
    • Intermediate computer skills, including ability to use Vlookup, pivot tables, and formulas in Excel; Build presentations in PowerPoint
    • Intermediate experience with Oracle
